      • Batting – Batting is charged by the yard.  We carry Quilters Dream Batting.  Quilters Dream Batting uses the finest fibers and state of the art manufacturing processes to bring you quilt batting of unsurpassed quality and consistency. Quilters Dream Batting is premium quality quilt batting that will provide warmth, drape, volume, definition and support to your quilt through generations. Made with pride in the USA.  We typically have all types of batting from Quilters Dream in-stock.
      • Quilt Trimming Charge – We typically do not trim the quilt before giving it back to the customer.  However if we do any binding work the quilt will have a trimming charge.

Tips to prepare your quilt for the Long Arm Quilter – Now is not the time to cut corners.

      • Pressing – Pressing is as important as sewing a straight seam.  Always press as you build your blocks and always press as you sew your blocks together to form your quilt top.  A very wise quilt teacher once told me … NEVER EVER stitch over a seam that has NOT been pressed.  Most patterns assist you with the pressing directions.  Always press your quilt backing.  Make sure the fabric fold crease is pressed out completely.
      • For optimum results you will want your quilt to lay flat and your corners should be square.  If you are scalloping your borders you should bring your quilt to the quilter with the scallops marked.  DO NOT cut the scallops until the quilt has been quilted.
      • Backing size – Always make the back of your quilt 4” to 6” bigger on all four sides.  The quilt back must be larger than the quilt top to allow the quilt to be attached to the long arm quilting machine leaders and to allow clamps to be attached on the sides of the quilt back to insure there are no tucks on the quilt back.
      • Quality batting – always use a high quality batting.  We use Quilter’s Dream or Hobbs batting.  There is a wide variety of types of batting from traditional cotton, cotton blends, poly, wool, silk, bamboo, etc.
